Nokia N900 Available to US Retailers On September 27th

Mark your calendars for September 27th. Nokia has given one of its major distributors in the United States the estimated date for the Nokia N900. Retailers usually receive their stock a couple of days after distributors ship them over. Let’s hope nothing goes wrong with the shipment and see delays similar to the Nokia N86 NAM’s release.

Nokia N900 Release Date

The suggested retail is $649 USD just as expected. Want to find which retailers will carry the Nokia N900? Try searching google for Nokia’s manufacturer number: 002L929.

Nokia kept its word for the Nokia N97 NAM and 5800 NAM as the devices became available exactly at the given estimated dates. That is not the case with the recent Nokia N86 NAM, which shows no sign on retailers’ shelves yet. Let’s see what happens with the Nokia N900.

I don't think that we gonna see this device on the market soon. I just called nokiausa and they still say the are going the release it in the middle of October and nothing more than that. Too bad i will not be able to take one :(
  • Hi Mark, I recently bought the N97 from nokiausa. I currently own the iPhone, but since I'm a huge fan of nokia, I wanted to get the N97. Well, I apsolutely hated it!!! It was slow and the browser on it was just awful not providing me with any internet like web pages, they were mstly mobile pages. Here is my question to you... Do you think that I will like the N900 a whole lot more then I did the N97? Is the browser on the N900 going to be more like the iPhone? And is the N900 bigger then the N97? Please, Please, Please let me know! Thank you Mark... I am a huge fan! :)
  • The interface is newer and the browser is supposed to be its best feature. I think you'll like the N900

I am going back to Europe on the 5-th and i thought that I wouldn't be able to get the N900 before that date. Well i might get lucky. Does somebody know which retailer is gonna ship it as fast as possible before that date
Btw. Is there any difference between the "NAM" version and the international version and what is it if there is any?

Mark does this mean it will be available for sale on the 27th of September?
  • I live in the UK, if i pick one up from the NY store when im there next week do you know if i would have any issues using it here? As I know Nokia phones are sometimes modified to use the connectivity (?) in the US.
And I wonder if warranty is an issue.
  • The warrantly will probably be covered only in the US, but it wouldn't affect your connectivity since there's only one variation so far.
  • Then other than warranty - I see no reason why I shouldnt save £110 by picking it up from the US and also there isnt a release date for the UK yet.

Is this the 'NAM' verison of the N900 or the International version?
  • Name
there is no nam/world option here

its only one phone, usa/euro 3g bands, of course quad band gsm
  • kooo
The only one version of the phone that there is now has two bands for Euro 3G, 900 and 2100Mhz, and the 1700Mhz band (AWS) for T-Mobile USA. It doesn't work on AT&T's 3G bands.

what I should have asked was, will this support US 3G for use on ATT? I don't think it does. Just tMobile? Can anyone confirm? Thanks.
  • NokiaFan1212
    US 3G for ATT, no.
  • NokiaFan1212
It would be nice to know who this "major distributor" in the U.S. is.
  • Matt
I think it is Brightpoint, Nokias US distributer
  • bob
shop.nokiausa.com points to 168.215.84.155 which is registered to brightpoint. You're correct.
