Nokia Hires Former Verizon VP of Marketing as New Chief Marketing Officer
Nokia announced today the newly formed Marketing and Communications organization and appointed Jerri DeVardi to be in charge of it. She’ll be joining Nokia’s Group Executive Board and also have the title Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). The new organization’s goal is to bring together Nokia’s Marketing, Brand Management, Communications and selected Industry collaboration activities.

Devard’s experience in the telecommunications industry comes from her tenure at Verizon where she served as Senior Vice President for Marketing and Brand Management from 2003 to 2007. In this role, she was responsible for leading all corporate initiatives to build and strengthen the Verizon brand worldwide. “With Jerri at the helm, we expect the integrated marketing and communications activities to increase the impact of our communications and engagement with consumers and other stakeholders across the industry and across the globe,” Niklas Savander, head of Nokia’s Markets unit, said in the press release.
