First Nokia Windows Phone Leaked on Video

This is too good to be a “leak.” The first video of a Nokia Windows phone just showed up . It has CEO Stephen Elop in it asking the audience to turn off their cameras and recording devices. The video comes from Technet which also had multiple cameras and direct feed access to the overhead display. Honestly, it looked produced by Nokia themselves. Take a look.

Stephen Elop said this isn’t the only Nokia Windows Phone already working. He has several of them already.

Here’s the video:

This Nokia Windows Phone device prototype is codenamed ‘Sea Ray.’ It looks very similar to the Nokia N9 with an additional button, the camera button. It is running the latest Windows Phone Mango, as shown by the multitasking screen.

Now that you know there are two almost identical hardware, would you pick MeeGo or the Windows Phone?

Due Nokia N9 could be the first and the last MeeGo phone, I’ll go for the Windows Phone!

  • Roger

meego, meego, no chans this will be the last meego device. Read The Nokia plan, meego will be experiment platform.

Already have a WP7 phone, so pre-ordered N9. Not much customization in the first Nokia WP phone, so probably skipping that. I can get mango on my HD7 anyway.

    Suspicious.

N9 gets lots of tech press praise…Quick, fire up the Windows Phone Hype Machine.I’ll take the N9 thanks. The way it works is just head and shoulders better than Windows Phone regardless of having Zune Marketplace or Xbox which I couldn’t give two shits about.

W00t! How can you say such things! Why on earth aren’t you swayed by the wonderful Zune service, the groundbreaking Xbox facility, Office interoperability, seamless email integration, the stability and power of Windows and the overall wow factor of Microsoft’s smexy approach?

Who are you to dare say anything negative about this wonderful stuff being thrusted down unsuspecting people’s!? Oh hang on, you couldn’t give two shits, you know, nor do I for that matter! I WANT MEEGO/N9 not this P.O.S.  A gold plated dog-turd is still a dog turd at the end of the day.  In the words of blackadder, I’d rather french kiss a skunk than go anywhere near this not worthy to exist ‘phone.

Windows Phone as I know it has a future

    Meego!
I don’t like the idea of another closed OS. The community around meego is and Qt ecosystem is very active. Nokia need developers and apps. My question is: how many developers are developing for WP7 and how many for Qt?

this phone just aint as sexy as the n9 so ill skip this 1 and stick with the n8 and n9

If I wanted Windows Phone, I’d have one.

Really, there are like 5 choices right now, and I’ve chosen NOT to get one.  It isn’t like their hardware is all bad either.  How is Nokia going to differentiate?

N9 is differentiated.  It has QT, the same as Symbian and (in the future) S40.  THAT is an ecosystem.  If they came out and said:

Look at the N9!! This beautiful piece of hardware and software melded together perfectly is just the beginning.  This is one of many QT enabled phones that will span our entire price range.  From towns in the poorest parts of the world through absolute high-end works of art such as the N9 in the highest price markets, your QT applications will cover the ENTIRE WORLD.  If you develop in QT, your market will span XXX million consumers in every country in every continent on Earth.  Forever.

That is the way forward.  Port QT to S40.  Push Meego.  Squeeze Symbian out between S40 and Meego over time.  Problem.  Solved.

i’ll take the N9 without a question. it doesn’t matter if nokia decides that’s their only meego device. the fact that it is open source means that development will continue for it from third parties and that will give it life.

I’ll probably go for Nokia WP7 device with a keyboard on it.. no matter how good touch is.

The N9 will be a good seller for people who like choice… if I wanted WP7 I could have various different handsets already… no thanks… I think the WP7 front screen looks like its for kids…. The N8 is better than that with its symbian3.   WP7 just looks so basic…

I really think nokia has messed up here as meego would of / should of been the future that Nokia should of gone with… by all means do acouple of WP7 phones to keep people happy for should not of ditched meego so quickly.

I for one cant wait to see a N9 for real and decide to swap from my N8 to it if all is good.  I cant honestly see me ever buying a WP7 (I’ve used some and I’m not a fan) I have to say even Apple IOS looks way better than WP7.

    WP7 no thanks…
