PHP 8.0 Reaches End of Life, Support for PHP 8.3 Announced | cPanel Blog

PHP 8.0 was released on November 26, 2020, and reaches its end-of-life on November 26, 2023. As a result, it is no longer supported, and security vulnerabilities will no longer be patched. To align with this change, PHP 8.0 has been removed from cPanel & WHM provided default EasyApache4 profiles.

Announcing Support for PHP 8.3

PHP 8.3, anticipated for release in November 2023, introduces new features and performance improvements, making it a valuable addition to EasyApache4, with:

  • Feature Enrichment: PHP 8.3 empowers cPanel users with new features and performance enhancements, offering a more robust and dynamic programming environment.
  • Security Enhancements: Inclusion of PHP 8.3 ensures that cPanel users benefit from the latest security fixes, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to safeguarding user data.

If you or your customers are currently running websites using PHP version 8.0, this is a good opportunity to encourage incremental upgrades towards PHP 8.3, with versions 8.1 and 8.2 still available at version 8.3’s release.
